AlbanyTri 2024 on September 22 — Sign up & Psych up!

Posted on Updated on

The 2024 Albany Community Triathlon takes place on Sunday September 22 at 8am at Albany Memorial Park — same great venue we’ve been using since 2008.

Our “Super Sprint” distance multi-loop course is beginner-friendly, family-friendly, and spectator friendly with a pool swim in your own split lane. As with last year, our kid-friendly “Short Course” mini triathlon is open to adults and parents who would like to accompany their young ones in the event. The short course will take place at 8am BEFORE the main course which will start at 9:15am. See our course information page for details about both the main course super sprint and short course, as well as our extensive FAQ for general questions.

Registration is now available. Event shirts will be included in with your registration if you sign up by September 1. After that date, a limited supply of shirts will be available for purchase separately at the event. You’re also free to decline the shirt. Our registration info page has the pricing schedule as well as a link to our registration provider (RunSignUp). Go directly to the registration website by clicking on the “SignUp Today” link on the right side of any page at AlbanyTri.com.

New for 2024: Seeding of swim heats will be primarily determined by registration order. The first swim heat of the main course starts at 9:15 am and the last heat is around 11:45 am, with heats starting every 15 minutes. This year, we will be seeding the swim heats primarily by registration date, so sign up early if you’d like to start the race sooner than later. On the registration form, you can still specify family & friends preferences for others you would like to start with, as well as indicate your preference for the first (more competitive) heat. Participants with the same club affiliation will also be grouped together to the extent possible. The short course swim heats all take place between 8:00–8:40am, starting every 10 minutes, with a similar seeding scheme.

As the AlbanyTri celebrates its 14th year, we thank our many great participants and sponsors over the years who have collectively helped us raise over $71K since 2008 for our beneficiary, Albany Athletic Boosters which supports both Albany Middle School & Albany High School sports programs. Training and competing in a triathlon and helping our great public schools and participating in a multi-generational community celebration of fitness — triple WIN! 🏊🏻‍♀️🚴🏼‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🤩

Hope your summer has been going well and hope to see you at this year’s AlbanyTri. Stay healthy and best of luck in your training!
